December 2021

DATE: Saturday December 18, 2021  1:30 - 3:30pm Eastern  NOTE DATE & TIME !

FEATURED GUESTS: BAS Members John S. Allen and Alan Southwick

TOPIC: How to create a video of a live performance

Due to COVID, many performers were forced to begin streaming their performances creating a revenue stream to replace live performance income.

While the need is somewhat abated due to the resumption of performances in venues, the need for streaming persists. And with it a comes a need for equipment, video and audio engineers, editors, and streaming platforms to distribute the programs.

The BAS will be discussing the requirements of this work beyond the audio recording we are familiar with. We will draw on the expertise of two of our own members. Both have experience with video production.

John S. Allen will be presenting the work with his local choir, and Alan Southwick will discuss his work with local groups. They will discuss the capture, processing and creation of the video master of the events. They will present samples of their work as examples of the techniques they use to solve problems.
