Topic: A visit to Fidelis, a high end retail audio store

Walter Swanbon is a long time BAS member and has been in the retail audio business for 28 years. His store carries Harbeth loudspeakers ( www.harbeth.co.uk ), Lavardin amplifiers ( www.lavardin.com ), and Audiopax ( www.audiopax.com ) amps, preamp, and loudspeakers. There is a service shop on the premises. He will talk about his store and industry trends affecting independent retailers. There may be a manufacturer's rep present to talk about product.

Walter Swanbon has worked in the sound reinforcement field, engineered live recordings, and performed as a manufacturer's representative and consultant for some of the top companies in the audio world. In the early 80's, Walter developed and owned AudioVision, a highly-regarded audio shop in the Boston area. In the 90s, he owned and operated Ensemble Music Systems in Nashua, NH. Now for the new millenium, Walter has gone back to his roots with Fidelis, a store for serious music and film lovers.

The store will be open at 2 PM, so come early and enjoy the refreshments and socialize. We will have a brief Open Forum at 2:30, then John Marks will have a short presentation, then on to Walter Swanbon and the store. The store will be open until 6 PM. John Marks is a recording engineer and writer for Stereophile and spoke before the BAS in 2000, BASS 23-4.
