BAS Message
March 2010

Webmasters Note: This space will (from May, 2009 forward) be called The BAS Message, since it may be written by someone other than the President of the BAS. —Barry

1.  In Walter Mossberg's column in the Wall Street Journal, a reader asks about a modern replacement for his VCR. He recommends a TIVO; or computer based video recording. I checked and the TIVO is a subscription device for at least $8 a month plus the cost of the unit. Also it only records to hardrive, not removable media. A proper replacement: the Magnavox H2080MW8 for under $200.

2.  For Sale: Five JBL LSR28P Linear Spatial Reference biamplified studio monitors (www.JBLPro.com/pages/recording/lsr28p.htm; $1200 srp each). Asking $325 ea plus shipping. If buying all five ($1625), three OmniMount (www.OmniMount.com) wall brackets (each about $175 srp) included at no extra charge, and total shipping cost is about $250 in CONUS. Funds transfer or cash only; no checks. Fred Ampel (FAmpel@KC.RR. com)
Webmaster's Note: since JBL doesn't have pictures posted on the above page, here is the link to the PDF which DOES have pix: www.jblpro.com/pub/recording/lsr28p.pdf  (opens in a new window).
